WebSep 22, 2012 · One of my favourite stations is Darlington Bank Top which was opended in 1887 by the NER and designed by William Bell. To me it still retains the grandeur and atmosphere of the Victorian age despite the modern trains which use it. I believe that a station has stood on this site since the opening of the Great North of England line in 1841.
